Out of Town with no Sox

Yes, I’ve been away from my blog for a few days since I’m on a work trip out of the country. As fans know, it’s hard to keep up with the team when your only news is the ticker on CNN and an occasional update in the out-of-town newspapers.  I’m sorry to wake up today and see that, as my Dad would say, it was "a very bad night" (translation: Red Sox lost and Yankees won). Down to 1.5 isn’t a good feeling, but we’re still in the lead and going to the playoffs. When I get back into town tomorrow, my first job is to get caught up again on all things Red Sox.

Access to tickets remains a huge issue in this election. I hope to talk to the Red Sox about their current processs, so I can better understand how it works and how it can be improved. I do know that the Red Sox (as well as many corporations who have tickets) do a lot for needy causes.  At every game you have a special person throwing out a ball, or announcing "play ball" or mentioned on the loudpeaker and/or screen. Maybe that needs to be publicized more than it currently is promoted to show the good will of the Red Sox. I’ll see what I can find out and report back soon.

Hi Cindy – I follow your blog with great interest. It was hard being Red Sox fans when we lived in NJ but we are now surrounded by great fans up here in Maine!! (especially since a lot of the players currently on the team played for the Portland Seadogs).
Good luck with the race for President!

Well, yes we ARE going to the playoffs, but wouldn’t it be great to WIN the division rather than be a wild card entry? We can do it, if the Sox stay focused and play up to their potential. Hopefully Manny will be back in the line up soon and this week will be a good prep for October!! Keep the faith!! We’re also looking forward to having our 1st woman President!!! Best of luck, Cindy!

Cindy, as the blogfest draws to a close, just wanted to let you know that I think you show through your blogs how effective and dedicated a President you would be. You are “on site”, so to speak, and seem to have the experience to lead the Nation! I’m sure you will tackle the issues of tickets and improving the fan experience with enthusiasm and diligence. Good luck!!!

    Hey Cindy-
Of course we will make the playoffs…and then the world series… and then 2004 all over again! Maybe this time I can get a seat on the Ducks for the World Series parade. Just kidding. Good luck and have a great re-entry into Boston tomorrow.

Hmmmm. Ok Grant. Lets think this over. IF the the Indians have to rely on the “strong bullpen” to get them through, that would tell me that the starting pitching would be GIVING IT UP as quick as your….we wont go there. Anyway, I will take my chances that 1) Cindy wins the Presidency 2) Bo-Sox offense does what they need to win so that the Indians bull pen diverts to the right fielder in the 8th & 9th inning 3) In cooperation with the offence we know that pitching and defense win games SO, they will have just enough Starting Pitching to get by. Now, when they play the yanks for the division title you can throw all that away and enjoy the best smash mouth baseball ever played…..Sox & Yanks in October!!!NEVER EVER SHUT THE TV OFF UNTIL IT?S OVER. Then Cindy will invite us all up for the duck boat parade around Long Island?… without Grant.
