I’d like to respond to the great comments/questions posted on my blog:
Why should I be president of Red Sox Nation?
Well, as with all candidates, I’ve been a lifelong fan. Nothing earth shattering — you can read my profile about growing up a Red Sox fan in New York — let’s just say it wasn’t easy! My true strength is in my leadership skills. I’ve been appointed and elected to many tourism industry boards where I was charged with representing members. I’ve learned a lot from these leadership roles and hope to bring those skills to Red Sox Nation.
Why do I want this?
Well, who wouldn’t. I love Fenway Park, I love the Red Sox and I love meeting with fellow fans. I truly think I’d be an asset to the Nation!
What will I do for the fans?
Since working on the 2004 Rolling Rally when the Red Sox won the World Series, I’ve grown to know many people in the Red Sox organization. I think they respect me and will be eager to meet to discuss fan issues. I’d work hard to bring the issues of our Nation to management. One of my pet peeves is when people complain but do nothing to solve the problems. With this Presidency, we now have a voice to make things happen for the fan base to improve the overall fan experience.
Plans to increase seating at Fenway?
I attended a presentation by a member of the ownership team a few years back that showed their future plans for Fenway. To put it mildly, I was impressed not only by the actual plans, but for their attention to detail and thoughtful approach to increasing seating capacity without losing the "feel" of Fenway Park. Not having any experience in planning, I can’t say exactly where the best place is, but I agree that over the bleachers would be amazing. Another important area that needs to be considered is the surrounding area around Fenway.
Wishing you the best in your quest. There is no bigger fan than you, and not a stronger leader out there!
Good comments on last nite’s game. I am impressed with your insight and knowledge. Keep up the good work.
Keep up the good work you usually do!
Cindy, I agree with you regarding the celebrity status of several candidates running for President of RSN. Why another recognition, when fans like you should receive serious consideration for President? A Remy, a Goodwin, a Gammons, a Horn, a Barnicle, or a Garces would make a mockery of the entire endeavor! Good luck to a true fan!
Ok finally made it to the BLOG – Cindy – You Go Girl and don’t stop till you’re President. “The” Nation needs YOU!
Go Sox!
Cindy, I feel that you have the BEST platform of all the candidates! It seems realistic and would benefit many people. I think you’ve shown that you have a great ability to lead and I loved the story in the debate about your New York upbringing(God Bless you Dad)! Now that is truly proof that Red Sox Nation is widespread, even in enemy territory! Best of luck in the election!
And best of Luck to the Sox in the playoffs…hope you will have a lot of business again in early November!!!
